Three Giants
Framed size: W 24cm x H 29cm x D 3cm approx.
Painted en plein air along the River Stour near Dedham, this study was all about responding quickly to those three giant trees rising above the field. I kept the marks loose and lively, letting the scene settle without pushing it too far. The soft light that day gave everything a gentle stillness and I wanted to hold onto that feeling - a straightforward, honest impression of a place I know well.
