Learn to capture the crisp, luminous atmosphere, frost and dark reflective waters of a winter landscape.
- We begin with a short demonstration showing how to balance warm low winter sunlight against cool shadows using colour temperature, saturation and tone.
- Then we’ll use our sketchbooks to explore value ranges and tonal structure to lock in the composition.
- A fast oil sketch on a small board will then help you establish key colour relationships and embrace your own style.
- Finally, you’ll move to your main board for the afternoon, where you’ll develop depth, luminous light and character in your final painting.
Price includes primed boards but please bring your own materials (see 'What to Bring').
Suitable for those with some painting or drawing experience. Demonstrations, guidance and painting time included. Oils, water-mixable oils or acrylics may be used. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided – just bring your own lunch and materials.
