Explore how to create a powerful sense of depth and space using tonal values and atmospheric perspective. In this workshop, we'll work with a limited palette of three primaries and white, using just two brushes and no solvent to keep things simple and direct. You'll learn how to use temperature shifts, softened edges, and tonal layering to guide the viewer through a sunlit foreground, silhouetted middle distance, and gently receding distant hills - all while maintaining harmony and atmosphere across the whole painting.
Suitable for those with some drawing and painting experience, with full guidance on oil painting techniques provided. If you would prefer to use water-mixable oils or acrylics please feel free.
I hope you can join us on this one day workshop. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be available throughout the day but please bring your own packed lunch and materials with you.
Look forward to seeing you there!
