Join me for this studio-based one-day workshop exploring the beauty and drama of sunset light. During the day we will paint three small studies on panels, each capturing a different sunset and encouraging you to work quickly and decisively. By focusing on expressive brushwork and confident mark-making, you will learn how to simplify a scene, identify what is most important and capture the atmosphere without getting lost in unnecessary detail.
Working on small studies helps keep colour fresh and decisions bold, building confidence in your painting process. It is also excellent practice for plein air painting, where changing light requires a direct and instinctive approach. Through demonstrations and guided painting time, you will leave with three finished studies and a stronger, more confident approach to your painting.
If you would prefer to use water-mixable oils or acrylics please feel free.
