Boats & Reflections, Saturday 31 January 2026 10am - 4pm

A painting board approx.  12in x 16in - preferably MDF or hardboard primed with three coats of gesso primer (such as Winsor and Newton gesso primer). You may wish to tint the board off white. If you work fast you may wish to bring a second board.

Primed boards 12in x 16in will be available to purchase on the day at £3.50 if you wish.

Oil colours - Titanium White, French Ultramarine Blue (not green shade), Cadmium Yellow Pale or Chrome Yellow hue (not too orange) and Cadmium Red Hue. Student quality such as Winton from Winsor and Newton will be fine.

Brushes - Short flat (or 'brights') hog bristle brushes size 6 and a synthetic rigger size 1.

Medium/Solvent - I will be using Zest-it paint dilutant and brush cleaner but feel free to bring along what you normally use.

Cloths - Rags, paper towel or painting cloths are necessary for clean up.

Easel and palette - I will be using my box easel and palette but feel free to bring what you would normally use, there will be tables available should you wish to use them to stand a table top easel on.

Cancellation

Workshop bookings are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, your place may be transferred to another workshop or to another person (please notify me in advance). If your place can be occupied from a waiting list, a refund will be offered minus a small admin fee. In the unlikely event that the workshop is cancelled, a full refund will be given.

 

Health and Safety
This is an oil painting workshop where participants are required to bring along their own materials. We ask that participants use materials manufactured by reputable companies and be aware that materials will differ between participants. A list of materials Graham will be using is given and we cannot be held responsible for any reaction allergic or otherwise to any materials used.

Please be aware that the hall is a public space and as such foods that may cause allergic reactions might be present. The organisers cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions resulting from food brought by others during the workshop.
 
We are not liable for any loss, injury, death or damage to persons or property which at any time may be suffered or sustained by any person who may at any time be in or around the workshop venue.

Participants are required to conduct themselves in a safe and respectful manner at all times.
 
The participant will be liable for all damages to others and the venue if the injury or damage is due to participant negligence, misuse of equipment, accident, failure to follow instructions, failure to follow safety rules, misconduct or violation of any part of this agreement.
 
Access
Please advise us if you have any access requirements before making the booking so we can advise you accordingly.
